BRYCE FULLWOODS PROVISIONALLY WINS 2019 SUPER2 SERIES

21-year old Northern Terriorian Bryce Fullwood is the provisional 2019 Dunlop Super2 Series champion after amassing an unattainable lead after the penultimate round at Sandown.

Starting pole for Race 1, Fullwood finished fifth after gambling on slick tyres before deteriorating conditions necessitated a change to wets. A fourth place in Race 2 despite experiencing engine issues for the majority of the race was was enough for the #16 Middy’s Electrical & Data racer to extend his lead to 365 points with 300 available from the final round at Newcastle in a fortnight.

Race 1 saw a major milestone ticked off as 18-year old Tyler Everinham scored his maiden Super2 race win. Qualifying in ninth, Everingham started on wets and drove maturely to work his way through the pack in slippery conditions to hang on to take his first race win over Kurt Kostecki.

The Dubbo, NSW racer finished ninth in Race 2 and achieved his personal-best round result in fourth.

20-year old former open-wheel racer Zane Goddard battled to finish ninth for the round. The Gold Coast, Queensland racer sat fifth in Race 1 until contact on the last lap dropped him to eighth. He was sitting sixth  in Race 2 before contact saw him pit with bent steering and was the last to take the flag in 13th.

While Fullwood is the champion-elect, Goddard remains 104 points behind Kurt Kostecki in the fight for second in the championship as Everingham sits fifth in the championship and 156 points behind fourth placed Thomas Randle.

The final round of the 2019 Dunlop Super 2 Series will be held at the Coates Hire Newcastle 500 on November 22-24.
