CAMS HAND-DOWN $250K PENALTY TO DJRTP AFTER BATHURST 1000

The Confederation of Australian Motor Sport (CAMS) has today outlined the penalties handed to Fabian Coulthard and DJR Team Penske after it was determined they had committed a breach of the FIA International Sporting Code Appendix B at the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000.
The following penalties have been applied:
- A Fine of $250,000, $100,000 of which is suspended until 31 December 2021 on condition that the Competitor commits no further breach of Appendix B of the ISC and no breach of any of Rules B6.5.4,(Conduct Prejudicial) or D24 (Team Orders) of the Supercars Operations Manual prior to that date
- Car #12 be demoted to finishing position 21 in the classification for Race 25
- The loss of 300 points from Virgin Australia Supercars Teams Championship Points.

Statement from Eugene Arocca, CAMS CEO:
“The penalty issued today regarding the breach of the ‘FIA International Sporting Code Appendix B’ reflects the serious nature of the incident that took place at the Supercheap Bathurst 1000,” Arocca said.
“It is also important to note that the money received from the fine will go directly into the Supercars’ Fines Fund, which is used exclusively for safety research and programs, as well safety related infrastructure, such as the development of in car warning systems or the Hawkeye system, which has been successfully implemented in the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship recently.
“I would also like to acknowledge DJR Team Penske’s co-operation with all requests from our stewards throughout this process.”

DJR TEAM PENSKE STATEMENT ON BATHURST PENALTY
BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA – [OCTOBER 20, 2019] – After reviewing data from Car #12 following the Bathurst 1000 with the Stewards and Deputy Race Director, DJR Team Penske accepts the penalties issued related to the FIA International Sporting Code.
The team will be making no further comment at this time.
