For Bathurst – the scene of Hill’s best Carrera Cup result last year – the car has been presented in a refreshed colour scheme that is even more eye-catching.
Bullrush Rally founder Marko Seider explained the inspiration behind the updated livery.
“Bathurst was Cameron’s strongest drive last year, and his first podium in Carrera Cup,” Seider said.
“He’s going to be the one to watch, so we teamed up with Auto Artisan for a new livery that you can’t take your eyes off!
“The livery design is based on the Bullrush Rally Porsche GT3 road car, which is the hero car that leads the pack at all our Bullrush Rally events.
“We’ve decided to unite the two cars, and Cameron’s race car design will be instantly recognisable to anyone who has participated in a Bullrush Rally event.
“Once again, Auto Artisan Group have perfectly executed the entire concept, from design to creation, and the end result is something that will captivate the attention of fans around the Mountain.”
As part of his role with the automotive lifestyle brand, Hill has attended Bullrush Rally events throughout the year, including the recently-introduced Trackfest gatherings, where he has provided driving tuition to owners of exotic supercars.
“Cameron has been a great asset to our community, especially at the Trackfest days where our members have benefited from his guidance, and been able to explore the limits of their vehicles in controlled conditions,” Sieder said.
Hill, whose car is one of the finalists for the 2019 Meguiar’s Best-Presented Award, is looking forward to displaying the livery on track.
“A big thank you to Auto Artisan Group and Bullrush Rally for coming up with another amazing design – I can’t wait to showcase it on the Mountain, hopefully right at the front of the pack,” Hill said.
QUALIFYING
Cameron Hill has recovered from a setback in today’s qualifying session, to secure a starting position inside the top five for this weekend’s Porsche PAYCE Carrera Cup Australia round at the Bathurst 1000.
After a strong performance in practice this morning, Hill felt he had the pace to contend for a top-two position. However, a vibration part-way through qualifying necessitated a pit stop for Hill’s pit crew to check the car.
“The car was strong as soon as we rolled it onto the track for practice this morning, and I was happy with its performance and handling,” Hill said.
“In qualifying, the bounce of the ball just didn’t quite work for us. Our pace on the first set of tyres was decent, but when we came into the pits to change to a fresh set, I had a massive vibration as soon as I re-joined the track.
“We believe it was probably just rubber building up on the tyres, but at such an unforgiving circuit, it wasn’t worth risking a crash, so I came back into the pits for the team to check the car over.
“By that stage, I only had time for two flying laps when I probably needed a third one to maximise the car’s performance.
“Fifth on the grid for tomorrow’s race isn’t a bad outcome, but I know we have the speed to be further up. The good news is that tomorrow’s race is quite long, so there will be opportunities to make up positions.”
Tomorrow’s opening Carrera Cup race will be held over a 16-lap distance, and commences at 1:40pm.
