Tickford Racing heads back to Queensland this weekend for the Century Batteries Ipswich SuperSprint, the ninth round on the 2019 Virgin Australia Supercars Championship calendar. Informally known as “the paperclip,” Ipswich’s Queensland Raceway celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, and has hosted at least one Supercars event each year since its opening in 1999.

Supercheap Auto Racing’s Chaz Mostert (No. 55 Supercheap Auto Ford Mustang) has had notable success at the technical, six-turn circuit, with three career race wins and nine podiums to his name. Mostert sits fourth in the Supercars championship order and looks to continue his climb up the ladder in Ipswich.

Coming off a pole and podium finish in Race 18 at Townsville, Cameron Waters (No. 6 Monster Energy Ford Mustang) heads to QR with momentum as he hopes to chip away towards the top six in the championship, sitting comfortably in seventh after eight rounds.

Will Davison (No. 23 Milwaukee Racing Ford Mustang) endured a frustrating Sunday race in Townsville after getting caught up in an incident not of his making, and is hopeful he and his 23Red Racing squad can turn their fortunes in Ipswich, a home round for the Queensland resident.

Lee Holdsworth (No. 5 The Bottle-O Ford Mustang) has come into form over the past two months, finishing in the top ten in seven of the last eight races, including a current streak of five races starting and finishing in the ten. Originally from Brisbane, Holdsworth is keen to return to the track and build on his positive momentum in the middle segment of the season.

The Century Batteries Ipswich SuperSprint takes place July 26-28 at Queensland Raceway outside Brisbane. The weekend consists of Races 19 and 20 of the 2019 season on Saturday and Sunday, respectively, with practice sessions starting the weekend on Friday, July 26.
