TICKFORD RACINGS TIM EDWARDS EXPLAINS SUPERCARS LATEST BALLAST CHANGES
Supercars mandated recently that another tweak to the Centre of Gravity needs to be made across the board on all cars, the Nissan’s in the engine department from the top of the motor moved to the bottom of it, the Holden’s have removed all ballast from the roof to the bottom of the car and the Fords have been able to move around 10kgs of the 28kgs of lead from the roof to the bottom of the car.
“We are actually quite happy about the changes being made” says Tim Edwards. Only the 6 Mustangs will now carry ballast up in the roof.
Its understood that the rival Mustang team Shell V-Power Racing ran with the new COG weight distribution in place for the first time at last week’s test at Queensland Raceway. See the stipped back Mustangs in the Video below.
