81 CENTS FOR 81 WINS AND POLE POSITIONS

Fuel prices were dropped to a low 81 cents per litre at Shell Coles Express in Rocklea today, to celebrate the total number of race wins and pole positions since the Shell V-Power Racing Team was launched in 2017.

For one hour this morning, the Shell Coles Express site on Beatty Road, Rocklea, saw lines of cars move through the bowsers as fans flocked to make the most of the heavily discounted price.
 
As well as getting a cheap tank of fuel, the price drop celebration also allowed Shell V-Power Racing Team fans to meet their racing heroes. The reigning Supercars Champion and current Championship leader, Scott McLaughlin, as well as teammate and Championship contender, Fabian Coulthard, were onsite to join in on the celebrations, pumping fuel, signing autographs and chatting to customers ahead of the upcoming round at Ipswich.
 
“We’ve had a really strong run of success as the Shell V-Power Racing Team,” said Scott McLaughlin. “81 combined wins and pole positions in just over two and a half years is a fantastic record, especially with the competition that we are up against. To share this achievement with our fans today and provide them with the opportunity to buy fuel at just 81 cents per litre makes it really special for everyone.”
 
Fabian Coulthard credited the hard work of the extended Shell V-Power Racing Team as an important factor in the team’s success.
 
“The contribution of our wider crew and the Shell V-Power Racing Team fans is vital to our success,” said Fabian.
 
“To be in Rocklea today to celebrate everyone’s hard work with our fans is amazing. Grabbing a tank of fuel for 81 cents per litre isn’t bad, either!”
 
The Shell V-Power Racing Team will hit the track at Queensland Raceway this Friday for opening practice in the 2019 Century Batteries Ipswich SuperSprint. Race 19 of the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship will be held on Saturday, 27 July, and Race 20 on Sunday, 28 July.
 
In addition to the fuel price drop, if fans download the official Shell V-Power Race Team app and register before the Ipswich round, they can enjoy 8cpl off their next fill if either Scott or Fabian win a race.
