Australia’s own fuel company, MEGA will officially open its first retail service station this Saturday (July 20) in the Brisbane suburb of Rocklea – and is rolling out the big guns for the occasion!

The event at 1384 Ipswich Road, Rocklea will see customers offered Unleaded Petrol for 99c per litre and discounted diesel between 9am and 12pm Saturday to celebrate.

Joining the celebrations will be MEGA’s own Virgin Australia Supercars Champion, James Courtney, along with the MEGA Supercar show car and other racing assets.

There will also be a BBQ, prizes, and giveaways for lucky customers.

It is the first in a planned rollout of MEGA fuel stations along the Eastern Seaboard. MEGA is Australia’s newest retail fuel brand having been in operation for a number of years supplying bulk fuel.

It is 100% Australian owned and operated and based in Queensland. MEGA shot to prominence through its investment in sports sponsorship across drag racing, motocross, offshore powerboats and most famously as the naming rights partner to Walkinshaw Andretti United’s two car Virgin Australia Supercars outfit.

The Rocklea location is ideally situated adjacent to the Rocklea Showgrounds and  Brisbane’s major produce markets are nearby.

The company has been in a strong phase of acquisitions throughout 2019, taking control of a number of fuel distribution companies to bolster its bulk fuel distribution capabilities and establish a network that can support the retail rollout.

MEGA has the capacity to supply ethanol based fuel, unleaded, premium unleaded, diesel, marine and aviation fuel. It can also install bulk storage tanks with world leading electronic solutions for multi-user workplaces – such as regional councils – or associations that wish to offer their members premium fuel at better prices.

CEO, Garth Anderson said the familiar purple, gold and black logo will become a beacon to travellers in the years to come.

“It is a great day for MEGA to finally have our first outlet open,” he explained. “It has been a long time in the planning stages and it is something we’ve been eagerly anticipating. It is wonderful to have James here with us to “cut the ribbon” so to speak – he’s a great ambassador for our company on the racetracks of Australia.

“Now the first service station is open the challenge is to continue to grow from here. MEGA has become synonymous with racefans through our sports sponsorships – and while many are benefitting from our bulk fuel supply – those consumers that don’t have a usage for bulk fuel can now fill up with our premium products.

“MEGA is Australia’s fuel company and we think people will embrace what we stand for,” continued Mr. Anderson.

“We’re aiming to provide something different to the consumer in terms of their customer experience. Our aim is to bring discounted premium diesel and ULP to everyday Australian’s so that in the end the consumer is the big benefactor.”
