Townsville, Queensland marks Brenton Grove’s next stop on the calendar as he welcomes aboard new sponsor Daikin for Round 3 of the Dunlop Super2 Series with Triple Eight Race Engineering.

Daikin, one of Australia’s most trusted names in air conditioning, have long been supporters of the Grove Group and will now be represented on the front of Grove’s car for the remainder of Super2 season.

After a solid start to the 2019 campaign, Grove heads into Townsville hoping to capitalise on the foundations built at the previous two rounds.

The Reid Park street circuit winds its way through the Townsville city centre with the concrete barriers always looming close.

It’s 2.85 km length is made up of 13 turns, featuring plenty of fast and technical corners.

Dunlop Super2 will have a pair of 40-minute practice sessions on Friday at 10:00 AEST and 13:30 AEST respectively.

Qualifying 1 follows on Saturday at 09:25 AEST, while Race 1 gets underway at 13:45 AEST.

A second qualifying session on Sunday at 10:05 AEST sets the grid for Race 2, also at 13:45 AEST.

Each of the sessions will be broadcast Live on Fox Sports Channel 506 and streaming service Kayo.

Speaking ahead of the weekend, twenty-two-year-old Grove said he is eager to get out on track.

“I’m really excited for this weekend,” Grove enthused.

“I think we’ve built some solid foundations in the last two rounds, although the results haven’t been what we wanted or could have achieved.

“There were some things that went against us at Perth that we didn’t realise until after the event, however, I come here with full confidence and the expectation that we can have a very strong weekend.

“Everything in Triple Eight is very open; I’ve got three other drivers within Triple Eight as a whole that I can reference and ask questions.

“We did a track walk with the Red Bull Holden Racing Team drivers earlier, so everything is open and there’s a lot of resources around me that I can draw from.

“My engineer John Russell has been awesome to work with this year — he’s very, very smart, he’s calm, he’s methodical and he’s calculated — he’s really the perfect engineer for me.

“We get on like a house on fire, we’re good mates and this weekend will be no different.”
