Oscar Piastri will be aiming for a podium finish as the Formula Renault Eurocup heads to Silverstone in the United Kingdom this weekend (May 9-12), after fighting to a solid fourth-place finish in the rain at Monza.

Working hard with his R-ace GP team, the Australian will be hoping for an advantage at the Northamptonshire circuit as he uses knowledge from racing at the venue in the series last year as well as when he finished as Vice Champion in the F4 British Championship in 2017.

VIDEO FROM MONZA:

Teams across the paddock will be hoping for a more settled weekend after the meeting in Italy was beset by heavy rain which caused much of Sunday’s race to be held behind the Safety Car as drivers struggled to cope with the abysmal conditions.

“I’m really excited to get back on track, especially one as challenging as Silverstone. I don’t think anyone has been to the circuit since we raced there last year, so for the rookies it will be quite a challenge. In the new car it will be difficult as well, because you have sequences like Maggotts and Becketts which are fast. The section through there wasn’t too difficult in qualifying last year but in this car, I think it will be more of a handful.” said Poastri

Oscar will first climb behind the wheel of his FR-19 machine for collective tests on Thursday, May 9, before official action gets underway a day later. Fans across the globe will once again be able to watch coverage of both races live via the Renault Sport Series social media channels, with links also being shared via Oscar’s pages as well.

“Copse is quick too, and Abbey, Farm, and Village will be interesting because last year it was pretty bumpy, and they haven’t resurfaced it yet. It is a fun track with high speeds. I know the team at R-ace GP will do a great job on the car as usual and I am really looking forward to the weekend.”
