BILLY MONGER IN F1 PADDOCK AT ALBERT PARK

Billy Monger, the inspirational British driver who returned to racing after a horrific F4 accident resulted in the amputation of both legs has arrived for the Australian Grand Prix.

Monger will be racing against the likes of Jack Doohan and Callan Williams in the Euroformula winter series in 2019 after he passed the mandatory cockpit escape test within the prescribed 3 second time limit. He has signed to run with Carlin.

In the meantime, he took the opportunity to escape from the northern spring for the relative warmth of Melbourne and the Albert Park Grand Prix circuit.

We met up with Billy for a few moments and left impressed by his positive outlook and sense of humour. Surprisingly, despite his walk through the F1 paddock, apart from Velocity Motorsport Magazine, few knew that he was there.
