Stephen Grove will be looking to continue his strong form around the Albert Park Circuit in Porsche Payce Carrera Cup Australia at this weekend’s Formula 1 Rolex Australian Grand Prix (March 14-17).

The Melburnian boasts an enviable record at the 5.3km, 16 turn track, with eight Pro-Am class race victories from the past 11 races at the Australian Grand Prix, highlighted by a clean sweep of all four races in 2017.

Albert Park’s fast, flowing layout presents an exciting challenge and is one that Grove admits – suits his driving style.

The event also puts Carrera Cup Australia on show in front of Formula 1 teams and drivers.

“I really enjoy racing at the Grand Prix,” said Grove.

“As a Victorian, it is my home circuit. It seems to suit my style and I like the fast and flowing nature of the circuit.

“We have had some success here in previous years but of course, that doesn’t always guarantee success this year.

“The field is strong and I will need to give it all I have to remain competitive.

“Albert Park definitely reminds me of something you’d expect to see in Europe. The flat kerbs and open corners are perfect for the Porsche GT3 Cup car so I’m looking forward to getting out there.”

Carrera Cup Australia will feature four race across the Australian Grand Prix weekend, one on each day of the event.

While Race 1 (11 laps) on Thursday will not be televised, the remaining three races (all three 10 laps) will be broadcast on Network Ten, Fox Sports and streaming service Kayo.

Race 4 on Sunday takes place hours before the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix.
