MCLAUGHLIN SHAKESDOWN NEW SHELL MUSTANG AT QUEENSLAND RACEWAY

Ahead of next weeks Supercars test day at Phillip Island, Shell V-Power Racing team have had a shakedown of the new Ford Mustang GT of Scott McLaughlin’s at Queensland Raceway – under the Supercar test rules the car is only permitted to run 60kms in distance.  With Shell V-Power Racing’s livery launch not taking place until Monday, the reigning champion’s new car has broken cover in white with a red roof with the Shell logo.

Rain came down just prior to the Mustang hitting the track which saw Mclaughlin’s first laps in the car on wet weather tyres, after completing the first lap he bought the car back into pit lane for the team to go over and check, it was then another hour before he took the car back out for another test, this time on slicks with the track drying quickly.

Also on track today was Triple Eight with Jamie Whincup’s new ZB Commodore along with the Super2 cars of Kurt Kostecki and Brenton Grove.
