THE BRABHAM Automotive BT62 Supercar will make it’s Mount Panorama debut at the 2019 Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour.

Continuing a long legacy of the Brabham surname competing at the iconic circuit, the 700hp car will do a series of demonstration laps across the event weekend while the car will also be on display throughout the event.

Developed as a specialist track day vehicle, Brabham recently announced that customers can also request the car to be converted for road use as well.

The BT62 weighs 972kg and is powered by a 5.4-litre V8 that producing 700hp / 522 kilowatts of power.

The news of the exciting Bathurst debut comes following an impressive on and off-track showing at the recent Adelaide Motorsport Festival, and confirmation that the car – to be built in Adelaide – will also be demonstrated at the Superloop Adelaide 500 this March.

More recently, Brabham Automotive also announced its intention to field entries in the GTE Pro class of the 2021/22 World Endurance Championship and Le Mans 24 Hour, returning the famous surname to top level, international motorsport once more.

Former Bathurst 1000 winner and Managing Director of Brabham Automotive, David Brabham said:

“Brabham Automotive is excited to be taking the Brabham BT62 to Bathurst for the first time. The iconic track has so much racing history and is held in such high regard all around the world. My father, Sir Jack Brabham, won the Bathurst 100 mile race back in 1960, including being clocked at 157mph down Conrod Straight, so we’ve seen success here over a number generations.”

The run at Bathurst follows soon after our announcement that Brabham Automotive intends to return to racing at Le Mans in 2021/22.

The 2019 Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour commences on Thursday, 31 January with 12-Hour cars hitting the circuit for the first time on Friday, 1 February this year.
