MATT CAMPBELL WINS 3RD 24HOUR RACE

Aussie Matt Campbell has won his third 24hour race this year with an outright win with the Herberth Motorsport team in their Porsche 911 GT3 R car at the 24H Series Barcelona event. Campbell was a late call up to the team only announcing his drive last Thursday. Along with the Warwick youngster was ?? #AlfredRenauer, ?? #RalfBohn & ?? #DanielAllemenn

The team lead the race for almost 12 hours and has come home without any major issues, Campbell said in an interview after his last stint that “the car has a few niggles but nothing major, we have avoided any big hits”.

After the race he said “very happy with the result, been a hard race but we got there in the end”.

Campbell comes off two wins in the past two races, first in class for the GTE-AM Porsche of the Dempsey-Proton team at Le Mans in June and last month he was first with the Team Proton Competition at Silverstone. And a win at the Dubai 24hr in January in the Cup class makes the hat trick.  Next up for Campbell is the 6 hours of Fuji in Japan in October and followed up for his final 2018 event is the 6 hours of Shanghai in China.
