HERTZ SAVE MEDIAS LEGS GOING AROUND THE BEND

HERTZ Rental Cars have saved the day, actually the weekend for the photographers working at The Bend Motorsport Park this weekend.

A lack of buses available meant that the photographers had to walk the outskirts of the country’s longest track outside of the Mount Panorama circuit at Bathurst.  And at 4.95km thats a very long way.

They are not unaccustomed to plenty of walking but the way the track is laid out here means that you cannot fully circulate around the track.  There is a no go zone between turns 9 and 13 meaning to shoot at opposite ends you have to go all the way back past the pits and out to the other side. (See track map below).

The organisers couldn’t get a vehicle but Hertz came to the rescue via the Western Sydney Motorsport team competing in the Aussie Racing Cars – team owner Craig Thompson is a Hertz Franchisee (see the Aussie Car pictured above) and has lent their 8 seater Kia Carnival to the media as a media shuttle.

“We are only too happy to help the photographers out, they are out there rain or shine producing amazing photos for us to keep and also use for our own media” said Thompson.

Today is the final day of the OTR Supercars SuperSprint, there are 11 events on track.  Keep an eye on our Facebook page for updates.  Main Photo: Linda Mandy
