JOEY MAWSON THIRD IN GP3 AT PAUL RICARD
Young Sydneysider Joey Mawson has finished third in this mornings GP3 race here at Paul Ricard circuit in the South of France, Mawson started from second on the grid but didn’t get the start he was looking for dropping a couple of spots off the line but making it back to third spot before turn 5 on the first lap and where he would stay for the rest of the race.
In race one yesterday Mawson finished in 9th position but was promoted to 7th after it was found that cars 22 and 24 were unable to provide an inadequate fuel sample following post-race technical checks. The Stewards determined that MP Motorsport failed to ensure that the mandatory 1 litre fuel sample could be taken from both cars in accordance with the Technical Regulations.
Earlier today (Sunday) we caught up with Joey for a chat about his aspirations for this weekend and the GP3 car and class have a listen below.
