The fifth race of the 2018 FIA Formula One World Championship, the Formula 1 Emirates Spanish Grand Prix, gets underway this weekend at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, with the track action commencing on Friday at 11:00 local time.

Nico: “The Hulk is feeling good. I do look forward to the start of the European season. Barcelona is a place we know quite well from winter testing, but obviously conditions are very different now. Teams usually bring updates here to the car and we also have some, so it’s going to be interesting to see how things pan out and how the pecking order might change. I feel we’re well prepared and looking forward to starting the weekend.”

Carlos: “It’s quite a special Grand Prix for me, my home race with my own grandstand there waiting for me. It’s a Grand Prix where I’ve always done well, I have very good memories here and it’s always one of my favourites. I think this year with the new tarmac will be a whole new challenge. We tested here in the winter but it’s very different conditions to now. It’s about re-adapting the car and the set-up to see how the other teams and ourselves have evolved during the first four races, which will be interesting to see.”
