On the eve of a blockbuster Supercars weekend, organisers have announced that Darwin will make history in 2027 as one of only two events on the national Supercars calendar to feature twilight and night racing.

Racegoers can expect even more thrills, fun and action alongside championship racing with new entertainment including pyrotechnics, light shows, and a festival-style atmosphere that only the Top End can deliver on warm, tropical winter evenings.

The Top End’s iconic sunsets will create a breathtaking backdrop while the new format gives visitors even more time during the weekend to explore during the day.

“A famous laksa at the Parap markets on Saturday morning, a swim at Berry Springs, relaxing at Darwin Waterfront or a day trip to Litchfield followed by night-time racing and entertainment action make for a perfect NT holiday experience.

“As the event continues to evolve and grow, we look forward to attracting new audiences, increasing repeat visitation and elevating the overall event experience to a whole new level,” said Tourism and Events NT CEO Suzana Bishop.

Supercars Executive Chairman and Interim Chief Executive Officer, Barclay Nettlefold said: “Adding night racing to the Darwin Triple Crown is a major evolution for an event that is already a favourite among our fans, teams, and drivers.

“There is nothing quite like Supercars under lights – the noise, the energy and the atmosphere create an incredible spectacle – and bringing that energy to the Territory in 2027 will make the Darwin Triple Crown one of the standout events of the season.

“As we look ahead to a huge 2026 event this weekend, we know fans will already be excited about what’s to come in 2027 and the first-ever Supercars night race in the NT.”

The announcement builds on the momentum of the 2026 betr Darwin Triple Crown, which will feature three full days of Repco Supercars Championship racing for the first time in the event’s 28-year history.

This year also sees the addition of Monster Truck Masters and Summernats goes Top End, while the Track to Town on Thursday 18 June will bring all 25 Championship Supercars through the Darwin CBD to the Esplanade, where cars featuring Indigenous liveries will park for a free fan event with driver signings, food trucks and live entertainment.

Fans can buy a single day ticket or make the most of a 3-Day Hot Pass for just $135, including access to the Pit Paddock, multiple shaded and open General Admission viewing areas, free public transport, free public parking and complimentary entry for children aged 12 and under with a paying adult.
