The prize pool for the inaugural Motorcraft Mustang Cup Australia season has been revealed, with Supercars test drives and international opportunities up for grabs.
Control tyre supplier Michelin will support the Dark Horse Junior class prize that will see the tyre giant offer an all-expenses paid trip to the United States to visit the Ford Racing Technical Centre in Concord, North Carolina.
The winner of the Dark Horse Junior class will be hosted for two days at the Ford Racing Technical Centre to experience its facilities, including simulators and mentors as Mustang Cup Australia positions itself as a genuine pathway in the Ford Racing system.
The winner of the Dark Horse Legends class will receive a 12-month lease of either a Ford Mustang or Ranger Raptor.
These prizes add to the previously announced test day with champion Supercars Championship team Triple Eight Race Engineering in its new Ford Mustang Gen3.
Plus, all entrants will fight each round for the Ford Insure Pole Awards. The fastest in every qualifying session will score a cool $1000, meaning that $12,000 will be up for grabs across the six rounds.
The Motorcraft Mustang Cup Australia will open its season as part of the Shannons SpeedSeries at Phillip Island on March 27-29.

“The prize on offer for the Dark Horse Junior Winner is more than just a reward, it’s an opportunity for young drivers to accelerate their career with confidence and further strengthen the bridge between local and international competition.
“It is also an important recognition of the pathways available to them as they progress through the ranks and reflects our commitment to supporting a competitive, sustainable pathway for the next generation of racers.”

“Promoting a pathway for drivers by offering a money can’t buy opportunity to access the resources of the Ford Racing Technical Centre in Concord.
