Motorcraft Mustang Cup Australia’s promotional Dark Horse R has taken on a fresh new look in line with the Ford Racing’s bold revamped presence.
The Dark Horse R that has travelled the country in the past 12 months promoting the new-for-2026 one-make Mustang racing series has received the new blue oval treatment, including the famous Mustang on its flanks and Mustang Cup Australia category partners.
And Ford Racing and motorsport fans alike won’t need to wait long to get their first look of the Dark Horse R in the flesh. The car will form part of the ‘Ignition On’ event in Geelong, Victoria on Saturday, February 7 where new Ford Racing’s newest team – Triple Eight Race Engineering – will unveil its Red Bull Ampol Racing Mustang Supercars.
The event will be held on the Geelong Foreshore where the champion Supercars team will make its first public appearance in its Mustang Supercar.
It marks a return for Triple Eight to the Ford Motor Company after a 16 year hiatus.
The Mustang Dark Horse R will be one of many attractions at the Geelong event, including Red Bull Ampol Racing’s lead drivers Will Brown and Broc Feeney, plus co-drivers Scott Pye and Nick Percat, as well as team principal and seven-time Supercars champion Jamie Whincup.
The event starts at 9:30am AEDT with the unveiling of the Red Bull Ampol Mustangs to take place at 11am.
A signing session for fans will take place from 12-1pm.
