Truck Assist TEKNO Racing Driver Jack Le Brocq had a tough second visit to The Bend Motorsport Park, the 10^th event of the 2019 Supercars season.
 
The twin races for the weekend produced results of 21^st and 25^th for the number 19 Commodore.
 
“At the start of the Saturday race there was a fair bit of carnage, but we were able to pick our way through that mess without a mark on the car, which was nice!” Said Le Brocq.
 
“We had some speed at times, but things just didn’t fall our way unfortunately.
 
“On Sunday we started the race well and were trucking along nicely, but we didn’t quite have the tyre life in the long last stint.
 
“We made a couple little gains this weekend with a lot of different setups thrown at the car, which is nice, but there’s still a lot to learn, and I’m looking forward to going to New Zealand next.”

Team principal Jonathon Webb kicked the weekend’s proceedings off with the 20^th best time in the additional driver session.
 
For Le Brocq, the event started with three 30-minute-long practice sessions over Friday afternoon and Saturday morning, with the car registering respective results of 25^th, 26^th and 23^rd.
 
The knockout qualifying format set the grid, with Le Brocq posting the 24^th fastest time in the first session.
 
Multiple accidents on the opening lap of the Saturday afternoon sprint race saw the field blown wide apart, with Le Brocq picking his way through the mess to climb six positions.
 
Subsequent to stopping on lap 11 of 24 for the compulsory service, Le Brocq gained a position following Rick Kelly’s late race penalty to claim 21^st at the chequered flag.
 
The final qualifying session for the weekend netted Le Brocq the 24^th starting position for the finale.
 
A wild opening lap saw Le Brocq run as high as 17^th, although he concluded the opening circuit placed 22^nd.
 
Le Brocq pitted for the first time on lap seven from 16^th position, and for the second time on lap 20 of 41 from 10^th, however the long run to the finish was a battle against tyre life, with the car crossing the line 25^th.
 
Following 22 races, Le Brocq is now positioned 21^st in the season standings.
 
The Virgin Australia Supercars Championship now heads to New Zealand, with the annual event at Pukekohe Park Raceway from September 13-15.
