AU4 HEADED TO SMP FOR THE PENULTIMATE ROUND OF THE 2025 SERIES

The AU4 Championship headed to Sydney Motorsport Park for the penultimate round of the 2025 series. Volante Rosso’s Isaac McNeill held a narrow advantage over AGI sport’s Noah Killion for the Tatus Gen 2 title, while Jensen Marold held a near stranglehold on the Mygale Gen 1 class in his AGI Sport #31.

Killion and McNeill traded fastest laps in qualifying with the AGI Sport driver taking pole in Race 1, while McNeill reversed that for the second race of the round.

Andrew Fiztpatrick got the better of Marold for Gen 1 pole position, which left punters savouring the prospect of an epic duel for the win in both division, and they weren’t disappointed.

Killion led the field at the start of the race, with the bright green Volante Rosso machine shedding skin from the left front tyre on the approach to Turn 2 as McNeill tried to drive unsuccessfully to drive around the #13 at the exit of the corner.

McNeill soon moved ahead and proceeded to lead the opening stanza of the race with Killion seemingly content to shadow his title rival.

Those places changed over the course of the final laps with Killion taking the win from McNeill and Harrison Duske in third aboard the Tim Macrow Racing #35.

Marold was victorious in the Gen 1 division from Fitzpatrick and Georgia Morgan.

Killiion then made it two in a row with the win in Race 2 on Sunday morning. A ‘bobble’ for McNeill saw him run wide at Turn 1, surrendering second place to Duske in the process. The trio finished in that order with a subsequent five second penalty for McNeill having no real significance on the overall result.

Marold and Fitzpatrick once again finished 1-2, with Koby Williams completing the podium in the AGI Sport #6.

The third and final race of the weekend belonged to McNeill with the #11 finishing just over a second clear of Killion on track. A subsequent 5 second penalty for the #13 saw the margin blow out to 6 seconds on the official results.

Harrison Duske also received a post race time penalty which mattered little after the Tim Macrow Racing #35 retired from the race after 13 of the scheduled 15 lap journey.

Cohen Kokotovich claimed the final place on the podium, having switched to the #29 N ‘Sonny Hayes’ Gotch machine for the final race.

Marold, Fitzpatrick and Williams doubled up in their race 2 result once more.

Marold took out the Gen 1 title with a round to spare, while McNeill heads Killion by two points as the series returns to SMSP for their finale at the end of the month.
