BARBAGALLO RACEWAY CIRCUIT UNDERGOES CHANGES WITH NEW SEAL
As we reported a while back that in the off-season Barbagallo Raceway in Perth is undergoing a face lift with a complete re-seal of the entire circuit, however we were sent a photo the other day that shows some changes to the layout through the turn 2-3 esses that may make the Supercars a little less exciting at that point.
One of the best vantage points at the Western Australian circuit has been the curb at turn three that sees the Supercars leap off the concrete onto two wheels which carries almost to turn four, below is a couple of photographs from last years round.

The image below was sent to us and shows the re-alignment for the turn to accommodate a “bus-stop” chicane for the motorbike racing, however it looks like the old curb has been replaced with a lower run of concrete that will probably see the Supercars merely just hop over the top of it and no doubt use more of the track limits of the new seal.

The WA Sporting Car Club posted this image on their Facebook page a few days ago before the the new seal was laid. Time will tell to see how the new part of the seal and curbing will be received from the the Supercars community. The Supercars return to Barbagallo for the Pirtek Perth SuperNight 2-4 May.
