For the first time ever, the Kia Stinger coupe will hit The Mountain as part of the 2026 Bathurst 6-Hour. The twin-turbo Stinger will roll out in anger on the Easter weekend in the High Performance (Forced Induction) B1 class.

Owner David Worrell will lead the driver charge, and will be joined on the weekend by Richard Luff and Scott Walker. All three are senior instructors at Fastrack Experiences, which hosts an exclusive Bathurst drive event each year.

Dave has stood on all three steps of the B6 podium over four campaigns. Richard and Scott also bring considerable tin-top experience to the driver line-up, with success across various categories including Production Car, HQ, MX-5 Cup, BMW E36 and more.

“The Bathurst 6-Hour is the pinnacle of production car racing in Australia, and I’m really excited to get the Kia Stinger out on track,” said Worrell.

The build is based on a Stinger GT variant, which sports a 3.3-litre twin-turbo V6 motor that makes 272kW and 510Nm in production trim.

It also sports Brembo brakes, launch control, adaptable dampers and a limited slip differential from the factory.

The race car retains the factory car’s bulletproof eight-speed auto, as well as some neat adaptations of factory-fitted features.

“Honestly, I can’t wait to send it up the hill,” said Worrell. “It’s got a lot of power and torque, which is what you need up and down The Mountain, and it should be pretty easy to drive fast over six hours.”

The team will shake the new car down at Sydney Motorsport Park in the coming weeks as final preparations continue ahead of the Easter campaign.

We’re keen to hear from anyone who’d like to be involved in this year’s event, aboard one of the most unique cars in the field.
