LEE HOLDSWORTH LEADS THE FORDS IN ADELAIDE

The Bottle-O Racing Team’s Lee Holdsworth (No. 5 The Bottle-O Ford Mustang) posted the second quickest lap of the day on Thursday in Adelaide, leading all Ford Mustangs on their first day of Supercars competition at the Superloop Adelaide 500.

Close behind Holdsworth were all three of his teammates, as all four team-prepared Mustangs ended the single session in the top nine. Cameron Waters (No. 6 Monster Energy Mustang) rounded out the session P6, with Chaz Mostert (No. 55 Supercheap Auto Ford Mustang) and Will Davison (No. 23 Milwaukee Tools Ford Mustang) eighth and ninth, respectively.

Though hesitant to take too much from the positive result after 30 minutes of track time, all drivers were pleased about various aspects of car balance and pace, though acknowledged there is work to be done to firm up the four cars for Race 1 of 2019 on Saturday. 

The Superloop Adelaide 500 continues on Friday with Practice 2 in the late morning and Practice 3 in the mid-afternoon before Race 1 qualifying in the Adelaide twilight, from 6:25 p.m. ACDT
