Its been two months almost to the day since Matt Campbell, Christian Ried and Julien Andlauer raced their Dempsey Proton Competition Porsche 911 RSR to win the Le Mans 24hr in the ProAM class. As you’ll hear in Matts chat below he is itching to get back into the Porsche after the long break for the WEC 6Hour Silverstone event.
Last month Matt was back home for a couple of weeks and got to have a run in his own Historic Group N car “Daisy” the yellow Datsun 1200 and the Historic Formula 2 ASP he’s raced successfully in the Queensland Super Sprints (Qld Champion 2 years running in 2013/14) and in other Historic events, the car was owned by the late Frank Marshall a dear friend of the Campbell family, Marshall who passed away earlier this year. Have a read here in the post we ran about Matt’s visit back home, and of course this all had to be done with special permission of Porsche Germany as well.
There is a question and answer with Campbell in our current issue of our glossy Velocity Motorsport Magazine which you can purchase here.
Here are Matts comments on this weekends Silverstone WEC event a 6 hour endurance race, the team currently lead the championship.
